behind PATREC

PATREC’s work is shaped by three distinct groups, each contributing differently.

Our Research Team conduct multi-disciplinary applied research. Research Advisory Committees coordinate research project selection, progress monitoring, and communication, and the PATREC Board ensures that the centre operates with integrity, accountability, and a long-term purpose.

PATREC Research team

PATREC is led by the Director, Professor Sharon Biermann, and is supported by collaborative researchers from a range of disciplines across university partners. Further resourcing is sought through collaborating university partner’s students and affiliates appointed on a project-basis.

The PRAC advises the PATREC Board on project level matters.

Climate Action PATREC Research Advisory Committee (CARAC)

The purpose of the Climate Action PATREC Research Advisory Committee (CARAC) is to strengthen co-ordination amongst the PATREC partners in relation to the climate action in transport and land planning applied research projects. The CARAC advises the PATREC Board on project level matters.

PATREC BOARD

PATREC is governed by a Board representing its sponsoring universities and the Government of Western Australia​. The role of the Board, among others, is to help provide leadership and strategic direction to PATREC and to promote cooperation and collaboration between all parties involved. It has an independent chair and meets three times per year.
