The RailSmart Dashboard was highlighted by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and commended by the Research Awards jury for its originality and its applied focus. The judges found that the format of the submission (an online decision-making tool) made it hard to judge it alongside other, more traditional entries. Judges, however, marked it highly, noting its originality and direct relevance to practice.
